Bookmaker’s license: which bookmakers have licenses?
Since July 2009, betting shops must obtain a license in order to operate in the Russian Federation. The document is issued by the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia.
On 30 September 2020, Federal Law No. 270* relating to the new procedure for the organization and holding of gambling events came into force in Russia. What are the new requirements for the operation of bookmakers and betting shops?
Licensed bookmakers have several benefits:
- Operation through TSUPIS to regulate financial matters;
- Compulsory membership in a self-regulatory organization (SRO) and protection of the players’ interests;
- Ability to organize advertising campaigns;
- Protection of players’ personal data in accordance with the legislation of the RF.
